9VOLTS

9Volts is the musical persona of Scotland based electonica artist Paul Francis Woolfries.

Although Paul's musical activities range from writing and performing with different Metal and Industrial bands back in the late 80's and 90s, his 9Volts music project has always been growing alongside this and included the release of 2 EP's.

'9Volts' along with single 'Gettin Funky' was released in 1995 and the second EP '9Volts II' which features extended trance tracks 'Headache Victim' and 'Movin' was released in 1996.

The 1st album 'Resurrection' was recorded by him over a 9 month period in his own 'Delirium Studio'. It perfectly captures the mood and energy that 9Volts had done up to that point, with different twists and turns throughout to open your mind and make new paths to the future.

As a full time music lover he lists his music influences from wide ranging artists including 'Jean Michel Jarre', 'The Prodigy',' Aphex Twin', 'Nine Inch Nails', 'Front 242' and 'Depeche Mode'. Paul is always looking to grow and expand the sounds and styles he has captured through the projects he has been involved with. This is highly evident in the re-mixes and he has done for other artists including 'Ash', 'Everything Everything' and 'How to Destroy Angels'.
